Admissions Policy and Process

We are still accepting applications for this current school year. To apply for the 2019-2020 school year, please contact admissions office before beginning an online application. Thank you!

Spruce Street School uses a web-based application called Ravenna to manage our admissions applications and supporting documents. With the exception of a few, school-specific questions, all of the documents required are common forms that are shared among the independent schools in the Puget Sound area.

Application Process for the 2020-2021 School Year:

  1. Let us know you’re interested! You can do this one of two ways:
    • Go to Ravenna and look up Spruce Street School in the School Directory.
  1. Set up a parent account and student profile in Ravenna.
  2. Click on the School Directory to find Spruce Street School.
  3. From here, you can “Explore” or “Apply.” Exploring will give you access to a limited view of our school profile. Clicking “Apply” will allow you to access our application which is not viewable in “Explore” mode. You will still be able to decide whether or not you want to submit an application and the fee later.
  4. Sign up for a tour with this form. There is also a link to our form on our Ravenna school profile.
  5. Attend an Open House. Please note that all applicant families must either attend a school tour and/or an open house as a part of their application.
  6. Grade-level applicants are required submit all student records. Records can be sent electronically or uploaded onto Ravenna.
  7. Complete a student visit. Kindergarten applicants all visit on the morning of Saturday, February 29, 2020. Applicants to 1st though 5th grade will have their student visit scheduled on an independent basis.
  8. Parents/Guardians of grade-level applicants must complete an in-person interview as a part of the admission process. These appointments will be scheduled once all other applications parts have been received.

Enrollment decisions and contracts are mailed by March 20, to be returned by March 27, 2020. Applications received after January 16, 2020 will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
